Congratulations from Marine-Pilots.com!
On Friday 1st October 2021, in Brest (Finistère), Vicky Hérault joined the team of Brest pilots, where she is to replace Jean-Marc Nédélec.
Her three-year progressive training, which began on ships of less than 90 metres, will continue over the months to pilot larger ships, notably liners, LNG carriers, etc., exceeding 300 metres in length.
Student on a container ship
The young woman from Angers, after her baccalaureate, was trained on a container ship.
Unfortunately, we have only been able to research very little information so far. We are working on writing a more detailed report about this extraordinary woman.
It is good to see that more and more women are also taking up the profession of maritime pilot and providing a refreshing addition to the professional life there.
