The 5th new pilot vessel launched for Liverpool

According to Briggs Marine:
The PV “FULMAR” of Liverpool, an ORC 136 fast Pilot Craft, has been launched at Goodchild Marine Services Ltd.

Once in service, Fulmar will be the 5th new pilot vessel and will complete the fleet renewal plan for the Liverpool Pilot Launch Service.

The vessel will be undergoing sea trails during the next few days.

Video Liverpool Pilot Boats Naming Ceremony (2018)

Pilot boats Petrel, Kittiwake and Razorbill officially named in the Albert Dock, Liverpool back in April 2018. Each boat was officially named. Afterwards i was allowed onboard to have a sneak peak at Petrel, which a short video is included at the end of this video.

Article Port of Antwerp using drone for pollution monitoring

Port authorities in Antwerp, Belgium, are making use of EMSA’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) to support their day-to-day monitoring of port operations and rapid response to pollution incidents in the port area. The RPAS will enable the authorities to inspect at a distance their complex port environment which extends over an area of some 120km².

Article Ships are manoeuvred in remote mode in Klaipeda Port

Klaipeda is one among few seaports in Europe, where maritime pilots are able to carry out operations in remote mode. As it is attempted to avoid contact with other persons as much as possible during the quarantine, several trials have already been performed in the seaport. In December 2020, Australian Pilot Captain Ritesh Bhamaria was expertly piloting oil tanker MT Godam through the Torres Strait in adverse weather conditions when he and the vessel crew sighted a distant hand waving for help in the rough sea.

Article Re-Powering Pilot Boat New York
