From October 14th to 16th 2019, the Mediterranean Maritime Pilots’ Professional Association (APMPM), based in Tangier and representative of the Maritime Pilots of Tanger Med Port, hosts the 2nd African Congress of Maritime Pilots (ACMP2019), co-organized with the African Maritime Pilots’ Association (AMPA), is in partnership with the International Maritime Pilots’ Association (IMPA); under the theme: "African Maritime Pilotage: Challenges and Adaptations for Ports Development in an Emerging Continent".

Dredger OCEANLINE 5001 sailing at full speed struck anchored tanker STROVOLOS with moored alongside supply vessel, at around 1140 LT (UTC +8) Oct 2, on Melaka anchorage, Malaysia, Malacca Strait. The results can be seen on video – tanker suffered portside hull breach above waterline and apparently, some damage on cargo deck.

Article Canaveral Pilots Partners with Glosten/Ray Hunt for Electric Pilot Boat

Canaveral Pilots Association (Canaveral Pilots) has partnered with naval architecture firms Glosten and Ray Hunt Design (Ray Hunt) on a pilot/demonstration project for the design, construction, and operation of an electric pilot boat. The boat will feature a battery-electric propulsion system with an emergency 'get home' diesel engine. Once in service, it will serve as one of two primary boats for supporting pilotage operations in Port Canaveral.
