Again another video that shows a Non Compliant PTA
But also some bad safe working practices, why go down the inside of the Pilot Cutters Deck ? The safest way is to go down the outside. The deck hand should be lifting the ladder on deck so no chance of the ladder being nipped and worse still being stretched / weight tested. Then the next Pilot climbs on to a weekend ladder that has the potential to snap 🤬

Over the course of 4 days this August, I was afforded the opportunity and privilege of riding with the Savannah Bar Pilots for an article I was writing for a major maritime magazine. The Association of Maryland Pilots took delivery of its fourth Chesapeake class launch from Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation.
Since the Chesapeake class pilot boat was introduced by the Somerset, Mass., shipyard in 2003, 22 have been delivered to 12 pilot associations throughout the United States.
