A pilot in ship is required everytime the mechant vessel will be going alongside in everyport.

Editors note:
As a rule, every pilot has the right to refuse an unsafe ladder. Safety first! A brave pilot is not the one who uses an unsafe ladder, but the one who, in case of doubt, asks for a different ladder or a different setting.
Unfortunately, too many pilots climb a dubious ladder when in doubt.

No officer at the pilot ladder - not even think about starting to climb. So much ignorance should bot be rewarded

Definitely! The Pilot has the right to protect his life by refusing to climb unsafe ladder. And few more questions,
Where is the officer who should wait for the Pilot near the ladder with comm. to Bridge? Where is the life ring ?
