With effect from 1 June 2026, Steffen Schmedes has been appointed Managing Director of TRENZ GmbH. He will lead the company with immediate effect alongside Frank Diegel, who previously managed TRENZ alone. With this dual leadership structure, the company is broadening its management team and creating scope to allocate strategic and operational tasks more clearly in future.
Steffen Schmedes has been with TRENZ for two and a half years. During this time, he built the Business Development division from the ground and most recently held responsibility for it as an authorised signatory. His focus has been on international sales: he has strengthened existing customer relationships, tapped into new markets and expanded TRENZ’s presence beyond Europe. The company will continue to pursue this development consistently.
In his new role, Steffen Schmedes will take on greater strategic responsibility, whilst remaining closely involved in day-to-day operations. For him, proximity to customers, products and daily processes remains the foundation for sound decision-making. This also includes maintaining an international presence and meeting customers directly on site.
For TRENZ, the appointment reflects a long-term development strategy. The company aims to further consolidate its position as a specialist provider in the maritime sector and gradually expand its product portfolio. With Frank Diegel and Steffen Schmedes, the company will be led by two managing directors with different areas of focus who complement each other in their work.
