China’s Hin Lee (Zhuhai) Shipyard has delivered a new pilot boat to the Hong Kong Pilots Association (HKPA).
The Camarc-designed Pilot 63 measures 17.3 by five metres and can reach speeds of up to 25 knots. The boat also possesses self-righting ability.
The newbuild will operate alongside sister vessel Pilot 62 in serving HKPA’s various clients.
Police have performed an incredible late night rescue in one of the country's most treacherous waters, after a pilot boat ran aground at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. "We want Ports Authorities to Prioritise the Safety of Maritime Pilots"
In this interview, the President of the African Maritime Pilots Association (AMPA), Captain Mohamed Rafouk who is based in Morocco speaks on how maritime pilots in Africa have coped since the outbreak. He also talks of their interactions with Port Authorities and what their expectations are.
