The writer, whose full name is Josef Konrad Korzeniowski, but known by the literary world as Joseph Conrad, was born in 1857 in the Ukrainian town of Berdychiv to a Polish mother and father. This region was once included in the territory of the Kingdom of Poland.
A bulk carrier was departing port with a pilot on the bridge to assist with the undocking and manoeuvre downriver. The operation was also assisted by two conventionally propelled tugs, one forward and one aft.
In this article I would like to share my thoughts on this pilot ladder poster. Is it as good as we think or is there room for improvement? By taking you through this poster step by step I hope to explain what needs to be changed to make it similar to IMO an SOLAS regulations.
