​A state licensed pilot from the Sabine Pilots took navigational control of the Gas Ares as it was heading to a loading dock on the Neches River.

The Silver Bay Marina Cam views the tranquil harbor and docks for pleasure boats while also able to view the 1000 ft ore carriers entering North Shore Mining just to the east.
Boats up to 100' can be accommodated on a daily or seasonal basis in one of the 110 spacious slips.

It is frequently a Maritime requirement for a ship to employ and have onboard, a Ships Pilot when entering port. His/ her presence will greatly enhance the safe docking of a vessel into port, harbor or to an anchorage.

To minimize the risk of a vessel allision with a terminal gantry crane, the American Harbor and Docking Pilots Association recommends that all terminal operators with gantry cranes adopt the following Best Practices.
