The Tampa Bay pilot association has returned its first Chesapeake Class pilot boat to Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding. Tampa was built in 2003 when the shipyard introduced the class of mid-size, high-speed launches.

Made from marine-grade aluminum, the IZ 1150 AL Pilot Boat supports propellers, water jets, or outboard engines. Its central wheelhouse gives great visibility, and shock-absorber seats for six ensure comfort. Conversion work is nearly completed of the former Oil Spill Response Vessel OSRV MAINE RESPONDER to a Pilot Station Vessel for Sandy Hook Pilots Association of Staten Island, NY. The conversion work contract was competitively awarded to Feeney Shipyard of Kingston NY.

Took this in 2021. The pilot boat is helping to navigate through the Port of Barcelona.

On 15th September 2020, Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) laid the keel to auspiciously commence shipbuilding work on the Pilot/ Patrol Boat for Kowa Company Ltd. of Japan (Kowa).

The 400-metre-long container giant "Mumbai Maersk" has run aground in the North Sea tidal flats and must be towed free. The Central Command for Maritime Emergencies was basing its hopes on the high tide at around two o'clock in the morning of Friday night. The night before, an attempt to tow the freighter free had failed. The high water on Thursday afternoon was also too low. In addition, more powerful tugs are still needed.
