What does it take to become a Harbor Pilot in the Philippines

In this video we follow along with Capt. Dane of the Palm Beach Harbor Pilots Association on a windy Saturday morning as he brings in a massive bulk carrier cargo ship into the Port of Palm Beach. This vessel which has a draft of 27 ft, and a beam of 99 ft is the maximum allowable size vessel allowed to transit into the port due to the shoaling going on that forces all vessel to have a maximum operating draft of 29 ft. A video largely shot by my 10, 8 and 4 year old grandchildren depicting an open day at Portsmouth (UK) Commecial Port open day. We look briefly around the port, visit a Challenger (5) sailing yacht, a Pilot boat and a small tanker. The video includes a trip out of Portsmouth Harbour on the Pilot Boat to pick up my Son (a Harbour Pilot) from the grain ship he was taking out of the port.
