In July 2021 DACOMA launched a new EU project: AMCOSTAR.
Amcostar is a Eurostars/Eureka Network funded Eurostars project on Adaptive Control of Airkeel vessel stabilizer systems.

The consortium partners, DACOMA ApS in Svendborg (DK), Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg (DK), and Automasjon & Data AS in Stavanger (NOR) and Tuco Marine ApS - ProZero Workboats (DK) in Faaborg, will optimize, test, and demonstrate an adaptively controlled Airkeel stabilizer on a ProZero work-/crewboat.

The project will focus on the customer demands to be met within aquaculture, fast work-/and crewboats for offshore constructions, crew transfer to and from offshore wind farms, as well as coast guard, patrolling, pilot and SAR applications.

The Amcostar team will apply model simulations, water tank tests, and machine learning/AI to achieve ultimate performance of the novel Airkeel stabilizer. Fleet operations and crew will benefit from improved comfort and safety, rock solid working platform with increased crane and payload capacity as well as lower fuel consumptions.

Our aim is to offer the best stabilizer solution under all working conditions and to extend operations into periods of adverse weather, both during transfer and during operation at zero speed.

Going down the accommodation ladder with neither lifevest nor safety line must have been based on similar, past, successful operations, which may have never been challenged on board. This ‘slippage’ in safety is a pernicious and common phenomenon.
