Marine-Pilots.com, online portal and community for maritime pilots worldwide, has launched the new section „Marketplace“. For a test period, usage and advertising is free for registered users.
The section is intended to serve the exchange of knowledge, to ask questions to the community or also to offer the possibility to sell used equipment.

Finnpilot’s present six pilotage areas will be merged to form four pilotage areas. New District Managers have been appointed to head the pilotage areas. At the same time, an Operational Executive Committee will be established for Finnpilot. This week, the International Maritime Organization Sub-Committee responsible for developing amendments to SOLAS regulation V/23 and associated instruments (NCSR 11) finalized a new performance standard for pilot transfer arrangements, which is expected to be made mandatory by SOLAS and apply to new and existing SOLAS and non-SOLAS ships from 1 January 2028.
