Following the namesake of its predecessor, the new P/V Golden Gate will provide high speed service for the San Francisco Bar Pilots Association.
Servicing the San Francisco Bay, and taking Pilots to the Off-shore station boat.
This new state of the art vessel is equipped with the latest in low emissions technology from MAN engines and Hamilton water jets. This is the first first in a new generation of pilot vessels that will meet CARB tier 4 emission requirements. All while being more fuel efficient. And, It’s also really fast! Like, over 30 knots fast!

Video Handling a mid size container ship

"Mizar" is a 165 LOA containership, which follows a liner route between the caribbean and the US.
It has a fixed pitch propeller and a bow thruster, which makes it easier to handle. This maneuver consisted of basically just pulling her off the dock and then doing a 160 turn.

Video South Esk & Ederra 7 Interceptor 48 pilot boats rough weather sea trials

Here’s a nice video of the recent sea trials with ‘South Esk’, a new Interceptor 48 pilot boat for the Montrose Port Authority in Scotland. It was fairly rough during our sea trial days with a fair bit of wind, and although it was touch and go flying the drone, we managed to capture some wonderful video of her and Ederra 7 at the entrance to Cork Harbour in a gale.

Article Wärtsilä simulator upgrade will enhance Le Havre pilot operations

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply a complete navigational simulator upgrade for the Le Havre pilot station in France. The intention is to provide the pilot station with a totally new simulator specifically adapted to the requirements of the pilots’ operations. The order with Wärtsilä was placed in February 2020.The new unique visualisation system to be supplied is based on 14 DP projectors, comprising seven main circular and seven ground projection systems. It features a panoramic 350-degree screen.
