Video Maryland bans cellphone use by cargo ship pilots

State regulators on Friday banned cargo ship pilots from using personal cellphones on Maryland waters. The Maryland Board of Pilots, which oversees cargo ship pilots, approved a rule change 10 months after, and in direct response to, the Ever Forward's weekslong grounding in the Chesapeake Bay. What is the right job title for a pilot?
In English the term "pilot" can be misunderstood, because a "pilot" could also be the captain of an airplane. The terms "Marine Pilot" or "Maritime Pilot" describe more precisely that the pilot of a ship and not of an aircraft is meant. If we only write "pilot" on our page, then we always mean the pilot of a vessel.

The company TRENZ GmbH is the owner and operator of the web portal Marine-Pilots.com. We want to make the web portal transparent, fair, neutral and objective for all marine pilots and all companies and organisations. That is our requirement.
TRENZ also offers products such as TRENZ Pilot Plug and other services for pilots.
We will subject our products and services to the same rules and requirements as the offers of other manufacturers and providers.
