Safehaven Marine have launched ‘Rubban’ for DPWorld.

Safehaven Marine have launched ‘Rubban’, the second 18m Interceptor 60 pilot built for DP World. She is destined for their pilotage operations at Jebel Ali in the UAE, the Worlds ninth busiest port and follows their first Pilot 60 ‘Murshid’ delivered last December.

Powered by a pair of 700hp Caterpillar C18 engines she has an operational speed of 28kts, and capable of carrying 12 personnel in comfort. ‘Rubban’ is again specially fitted out for hot climate operations with 80,000btu of air-conditioning. She certainly is a very fine looking vessel, and represents our 63rd pilot boat delivered globally.

New guidance for PBAs with trapdoors. Released 4.11.2020 at NZMPA Conference in Dunedin, NZ. Distinct difference to suggestions in many other countries, is that we challenge operators who have the ladder suspended from the accommodation ladder (gangway) and not secured to the ship. SOLAS states that pilot ladder shall be secured to the ship, and securing strongpoints, shackles and ropes shall be as strong as the sideropes.
